Pelofsky To Lead Advancement Grants Effort, Oversee Government Relations
Missouri Valley College has announced that Lisa Pelofsky has joined President Joe Parisi’s senior leadership team as chief grants officer and government relations liaison.
Pelofsky, a Kansas City native, has more than 25 years of experience with fundraising and grant writing. She began her career on Capitol Hill as a Congressional staffer and has served in various fundraising positions on Congressional and Senatorial campaigns in the Midwest and on the East Coast.
“We’re very familiar with Lisa’s great work, and we are delighted to have her join our team,” Parisi said. “She has such a broad skillset and a great track record of success.”
Parisi said that Pelofsky had been a part of many successful grant writing efforts at Missouri Valley College and “we have decided to engage her at a higher level and with a senior leadership focus.”
Pelofsky also has a wide range of experience in the nonprofit world and a lengthy volunteer history. She served as a board member on the Kansas City Sports Commission, the Women’s Intersport Network for Kansas City, Calvary Community Outreach Network, the Bruce Watkins Cultural Heritage Center, and Jackson County Board of Domestic Violence. She also was appointed by former Governor Jay Nixon to serve on the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners, before becoming President.
“Missouri Valley College has some very notable achievements recently,” Pelofsky said. “There’s a lot of momentum on campus and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
Pelofsky has a bachelor of arts and science degree from American University in Washington, D.C., where she played Division 1 basketball.
