MVC To Graduate 230 On May 4
Missouri Valley College will confer 230 degrees to students at its commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at Gregg-Mitchell Field on the MVC campus. The class of 2024 consists of 210 undergraduates, eight associate’s degree graduates, and 12 master’s degree recipients.
The commencement speaker will be Mr. Mathew Gass, president of Brightli’s central region. Brightli is one of the largest nonprofit behavioral health and addiction treatment organizations in the country.
Gass is an MVC alumnus, dedicated to increasing healthcare access to individuals in mid-Missouri and beyond. He oversees a range of primary and behavioral healthcare services and programs through Clarity Healthcare, Burrell Behavioral Health, and Preferred Family Healthcare service lines.
In addition to his role at Brightli, Gass holds a clinical social work license in the state of Missouri and serves on the boards of several organizations. He attributes his success to the personal connections and educational foundation he received at Missouri Valley College.
Dr. Joseph Alsobrook, interim vice president of academic affairs, will present two students with the Charles L. Bacon Distinguished Service Award. The awards are given annually to a senior man and woman. The awards are voted on by the senior class.
The Missouri Valley College ceremony will be livestreamed on the Viking Sports Network. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Burns Athletic Center.
