MVC to Build New Residence Hall
Missouri Valley College has begun plans toward building a new residence hall for students on the Missouri Valley campus. The building will be constructed on the vacant land located at the corner of College Street and Conway Avenue.
“This new residence hall will help us in a variety of ways,” said MVC President Dr. Bonnie Humphrey. “First, it will provide additional beds that will give us great space for growth in student enrollment. Secondly, it will give us the ability to take some rooms offline so we can either renovate them or transition them to a purpose other than housing. Finally, this new housing project will signal that Missouri Valley College has successfully moved through more than two years of the global pandemic and that we are strong and looking to a bright future.”
The plans include building a three-story, 24,850 square foot, co-ed facility that will have the capacity to house 130 students. The building is designed to have 22 suite-style, double-occupancy rooms on each floor.
Tentative plans include breaking ground in May of 2022 with construction scheduled to be completed in January of 2023.
