MVC Fills New Associate Dean of Students Position
Missouri Valley College President Bonnie Humphrey has announced that Elizabeth Bellamy will serve as the new associate dean of students.
Elizabeth Bellamy is an educator dedicated to student growth on every level. She seeks to inspire students’ academic, personal, and spiritual growth emphasizing character and ethical development, exploring global issues and perspectives and developing leadership and innovation. She embraces students’ diverse backgrounds and strengths.
“I am excited to be partnering with Elizabeth as I think she will bring a great background and wealth of knowledge in not only higher education but in retention as well,” said Heath Morgan, vice president of student affairs.
Elizabeth has extensive experience in many areas of college and university administration including retention, enrollment management, programming for at-risk students, honors education, diversity in education, student support services, summer enrichment programing and student affairs training. She has taught criminal justice and law at Missouri Valley College, Saint Louis University and Lincoln University (an HBCU). Both her bachelor’s degree and her juris doctorate degree were obtained from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is an attorney who has practiced as a Special Prosecutor for the Missouri Attorney General’s office and other agencies and is experienced in both criminal and civil litigation.
Elizabeth is passionate about serving her community. She volunteers at the YMCA, the Marshall Career Center and the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater. She serves on the Blosser Board at Missouri Valley College, the Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter Board and the Marshall Public Library Foundation Board.
