MVC Division of Fine Arts to Present “Stone Soup”

The Children’s Theatre Workshop class within the Division of Fine Arts will present “Stone Soup.” The production will be held on March 29 at 7:30 p.m. and on March 30 at 1:30 p.m. All performances will be held in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre located on the Missouri Valley College campus.

This performance will be presented as a shadow puppet theatre and portrays an important story about the value of community, acceptance and sharing.

“With “Stone Soup,” the students in the Children’s Theatre Workshop class have created an exciting new version of this classic folk tale,” said Harold Hynick, associate professor of theatre. “Our version features an epic sea voyage, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and a fierce battle against the dreaded Kraken! This performance is targeted for audience members aged 5 and up and is truly meant for the adventurous spirit in all of us.”

Tickets for the performance are $5 for adults and free for those under 18 or those with an MVC ID.
