MVC DIVISION OF FINE ARTS TO PRESENT “ANTIGONE”
The Division of Fine Arts will present “Antigone” Oct. 8-10 at 7:30 p.m. nightly in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre and via livestream.
“Antigone,” by Sophocles and adapted from the translation by Ian Johnson, is a tragedy written in or before 441 B.C. A plague, a society divided by a breach in the peaceful transition of power, a civil war, whose dead are honored?–a young woman risks everything by speaking truth to power.
The performance is free and can be livestreamed at https://portal.
Harold Hynick, professor of theatre and co-chair of the division of fine arts, will direct the performance. Dyann Rozema will be the costume designer and Taeyoon Lee will be the stage manager.
