MVC Division of Fine Arts to Host High School Intensive Camp

Missouri Valley College’s Division of Fine Arts will host the Fine Arts High School Intensive June 24-26, 2019 on the MVC campus. The early registration deadline is quickly approaching on May 1, 2019.

The Missouri Valley College Division of Fine Arts High School Intensive is designed to give high school students an opportunity to explore and hone their skills as artists in this three day residential intensive. Participants will stay in Viking Village Apartments and eat in the dining hall. Participants can choose from dance, instrumental music, vocal music, theatre, and visual arts classes and will study with Missouri Valley College Faculty.

Courses that will be available in dance include modern, ballet, dance improvisation, and conditioning for dancers. Courses that will be available in music include vocal music and instrumental music. Courses that will be available in visual art include drawing and painting. Courses that will be available in theatre include dynamic acting, physical theatre, audition preparation, and vocal techniques.

“We are very excited to work with high school students and give them an opportunity to expand their artistic skills in a college environment,” said Janie Morgan, professor of dance.

The deadline to register is June 17. The cost for the camp is $200 for those registered by May 1 and $250 for those registered after May 1. Checks should be made payable to Missouri Valley College, HS Fine Arts Intensive and mailed to Missouri Valley College at 500 E. College Marshall, MO, with attention to Janie Morgan. The camp is eligible for high school students who have completed ninth grade or above.
