MVC Debate and Forensics Team Successful at Washburn University Tournament
The Missouri Valley College Debate and Forensics team, together with Coach David Bowers, traveled to Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas to compete in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
Ethan Hofer-Cassianni posted a record of three wins and one loss, which was enough to advance him to the octofinals round. By advancing, Ethan is now qualified for the National Forensic Association’s National Tournament which will be held in Whitewater, Wisconsin in April.
“The debate team came together through their incredible hard work and dedication to help this qualification happen,” said David Bowers, debate coach. “I have absolutely no doubt that they will continue to be hard working and supportive of each other in the coming weeks as we prepare for our next tournament.”
In addition, Monika Tshibanda and Eva Agcaoili competed at the tournament, garnering wins against students from the University of Nebraska, Washburn University and Illinois College.
