Missouri Valley College to Celebrate Homecoming 2019: Peace-Love-Vikings
The Missouri Valley College community will celebrate Homecoming 2019 festivities Oct. 4-6 on the MVC campus. The Homecoming theme is Peace-Love-Vikings.
Activities include the annual torch run/Ed Leslie 5k run and 1-mile walk, fireworks provided by the MVC Alumni Association, alumni banquet, 50-plus club breakfast, homecoming parade, Walker C. Fletcher Athletic Complex open house, pre-game tailgate, MVC Athletic Hall of Fame reception and luncheon and a schedule of Viking athletic events.
“This year’s theme, Peace-Love-Vikings, is a play on the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock,” said Amanda Linneman, director of alumni relations. “So many memorable moments happened in 1969 and one most important to us here at Valley is the graduating Class of 1969, who is celebrating its 50th anniversary year! We encourage our alumni and friends near and far to come back and celebrate all things at Missouri Valley College during Homecoming 2019.”
Four alumni will be recognized at the alumni banquet on Friday, Oct. 4 in the Charles L. Bacon Conference Center. Outstanding Alumni Award recipients include: Dr. Glenn Berry ‘71 of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Suzanne Redford Siems ‘96 of Elgin, Texas; Bruce E. Ayers ‘72 of Hoover, Alabama; and Outstanding Young Alumni Award recipient Sasha Devic ‘13 of Vogosca Bosnia and Herzegovina. The anniversary classes of 1959, 1969, 1979, 1989, 1999, 2009 and 2014 will also be recognized.
