Missouri Valley College to Bring Domestic Violence Awareness
Missouri Valley College will host an Escalation Workshop to raise awareness of domestic violence. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, November 7 from 7-9 p.m. in the Malcolm Center, Bacon Room on the MVC campus.
The Escalation Workshop is a program offered through the One Love Foundation which was founded in 2010 to honor Yeardley Love, an individual who lost her life to domestic violence. One Love works to ensure everyone understands the difference between a healthy and unhealthy relationship.
The Escalation Workshop is a film-based discussion that opens people’s eyes to the warning signs of relationship abuse. The workshop consists of the film, Escalation, followed by a guided discussion led by a trained facilitator.
“This workshop is a great opportunity to learn more about the differences between a healthy and an unhealthy relationship,” said Elizabeth Bellamy, MVC associate professor of criminal justice, “Attendees will learn how to spot warning signs, have difficult discussions, and take action.”
This event is sponsored by MVC Residential Life and Fresh Ideas. For more information about this event, please contact Elizabeth Bellamy at bellamye@moval.edu.
