FCC Emergency Broadband Benefit
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced a benefit to expand broadband internet access during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Many students are eligible to receive this benefit, which provides a monthly discount of up to $50 on internet services through an eligible provider. The benefit also allows for a one-time discount of up to $100 on a laptop, desktop or tablet purchase, given that the provider is participating in the “Offering Connected Devices” section of this initiative.
Students receiving Federal Pell Grants are generally eligible for this benefit. Eligibility is determined by the FCC, not by Missouri Valley College. To determine if you are eligible and to apply for this benefit, please visit: https://www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit
You can find a national list of participating providers on the FCC’s website. You can click on your State/Territory to narrow the list down to providers in your geographic location: https://www.fcc.gov/emergency-broadband-benefit-providers
