Campus Welcomes New Chaplain

Missouri Valley College didn’t have to go far to find its new chaplain.

Rev. Paul List started in the position this week. A resident of Slater, List serves as president of Bridge Collegiate Ministry, one of the most active student groups on campus.

“I’m so excited to be at Missouri Valley and begin in this role,” said List. “I’m going to be focused on discipleship, spending time with students, and meeting their needs.”

List, who will also serve as director of Stewart Chapel, will stress “finding ways to plug students in to the campus community and grow our sense of community.” He is also working with the student government association, the student activities office, and student success office.

He is pastor of First Baptist Church of Slater. He and his wife, Patty Jo, who also works at Missouri Valley, have three children: Ellie, Taylor, and Henry. List is working on his doctorate in ministry at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

In his spare time, List loves coaching CrossFit twice a week at the Salt Fork YMCA. He is also very active in community service projects and leading mission trips.
