Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning

At the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), we foster innovation, collaboration, and excellence in education. We support student success by promoting research-based teaching practices, meaningful discussions, professional development, and experiential learning opportunities. Our initiatives align with Missouri Valley College’s mission, enhancing learning through shared resources, feedback, and campus-wide partnerships.

The CETL will play a vital role in shaping the future of education, not only by supporting MVC faculty, staff, and students, but also by engaging with the broader community. We are dedicated to:

  • Supporting diverse student learning needs through evidence-based practices.

  • Providing opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to collaborate and exchange ideas.

  • Hosting events and professional development programs tailored for rural school students and teachers.

  • Advancing teacher preparation initiatives to develop the next generation of K-12 educators.

  • Showcasing and sharing innovative pedagogical and andragogical practices.

  • Offering meaningful feedback and assessment to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Providing professional development to empower faculty and staff in their roles.

  • Strengthening connections between MVC and external institutional partners.

Professional Development and Recognition

To celebrate and encourage professional growth, CETL offers microcredentials to employees who complete training programs, assignments, and established learning requirements. Participants earn Professional Learning and UpSkill (PLUS) Hours and receive an official Missouri Valley College Certificate, demonstrating their commitment to continuous learning and excellence in education.

Community Engagement and Outreach

Beyond the college, CETL extends its expertise to rural educators and students through workshops, training sessions, and special events. By providing resources and learning opportunities, we support K-12 teachers, future educators, and students in rural communities, strengthening the overall educational landscape.

CETL serves as a cornerstone for educational development—advancing teaching and learning, preparing the next generation of educators, and fostering meaningful community partnerships.
