1098-T Information
Missouri Valley College makes 1098-T Forms available to students each year.
Effective 1/1/2018 and due to federally mandated tax reporting regulations, Missouri Valley College will now be reporting amounts paid for qualified tuition and related expenses on the IRS 1098-T form. You, or the person who may claim you as a dependent may be able to take the tuition and fees deduction or claim an education credit on form 1040 or 1040A for the qualified tuition and related expenses that were actually paid during the calendar year. Please consult your tax advisor for tax questions or advice.
How to View your 1098-T?
- Go to www.moval.edu, then click on MyMoval in the upper right hand corner of the main page
- Select Colleague Self Service on the next page that appears
- Your 1098T form will be listed under Tax Information
A paper copy of the form is available upon request by emailing businessoffice@moval.edu
How do you get transaction details?
- Go to www.moval.edu, then click on MyMoval in the upper right hand corner of the main page.
- Select Colleague Self Service on the next page that appears
- Click on Student Finance
- A list of your complete transaction history will be shown to you.

What is form 1098T?
Form 1098T is a US Tax document that captures eligible transactions on a student’s account. More information about the 1098-T form and how it can be used for tax preparation can be viewed on the IRS’ website: https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-1098-t
Are all students eligible for tax credits or benefits?
Eligibility differs for many of our students. Missouri Valley College cannot give tax advice on specific eligibility requirements. Students are strongly encouraged to contact the IRS (https://www.irs.gov/help/telephone-assistance) for guidelines regarding eligibility and filling.
Do all students have access to obtain a 1098T Form?
No, only students with a valid Social Security Number on file with the college are able to obtain a 1098T form online, or in paper form by contacting the Business Office. Forms will not be emailed due to privacy and security obligations.
I am an international student; can I use a 1098T Form to claim tax benefits or credits?
No, most international students are non-resident aliens, making them ineligible for tax benefits. Please make sure that you are following tax law when preparing your taxes, failure to do so may result in fines, jail-time, or deportation.

Can international students use popular tax return software like TurboTax or H&R Block?
