Where accounting professionals track monetary transactions, finance professionals determine the strategy or management of money and other resources. The finance program at Missouri Valley College will prepare you to succeed in a number of areas within the financial field including resource allocation, resource management, acquisition and investment. Every area of business uses the techniques and skills taught in courses on finance and entities like banks, insurance companies, brokerage houses, and governments are especially interested in individuals trained in finance.

Our small class sizes give you the opportunity to make meaningful connections with professors and maximize your capacity for learning the ins and outs of finance. Professors work with you to ensure you understand the structure of financial markets, exchanges, Initial Public Offerings (IPO’s) and regulations concerning financial market activities. Degree in Finance

Students earning a bachelor’s degree in finance must demonstrate knowledge in the business core, you’ll do this through additional coursework in accounting, finance, business law, economics and marketing. The finance degree program covers topics including profitability, liquidity, debt and asset utilization ratios. Many students choose to double major in accounting.
