Rodeo Teams Compete Friday at College National Finals Rodeo

Marshall, Mo. (June 12, 2017)- The Missouri Valley College men’s and women’s rodeo teams continued competition at the 2017 College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., Friday.


On the men’s side, Junior Ben Kilburg (LaMotte, Iowa) competed in steer wrestling, and scored a 6.8 in his third go round.  Kilburg moved to fifth in the event standings with an average of 17.8.


On the women’s side, Junior Breanna Ellis (Clarion, Iowa) and Senior Lindsey Kraus (Pacific, Mo.) competed in breakaway roping.  Ellis finished with a 3.1 in her third go round to finish at No. 17.  Kraus did not finish with a score in her third go round.  Ellis sits at No. 27 in the events standings, while Kraus is No. 41.


The men’s team is No. 13 in the standings with 185 total points, and the women’s team is No. 9 with 120 points.


Competition at the 2017 CNFR finishes Saturday with the National championship round, starting at 8 p.m., CST, at the Casper Events Center.
