Action Continues for Rodeo Team at CNFR

Marshall, Mo. (June 14, 2017)- The Missouri Valley College men’s and women’s rodeo teams took part in competition at the 2017 College National Finals Rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyo., Wednesday evening with the third go round.


On the men’s side, Senior Fenton Nelsen (Iowa City, Iowa) competed in steer wrestling, and finished with a time of 6.1 seconds.  Nelsen moves to second in the event standings, with an average of 16.1.  Junior Briar Dittmer (Monroe, Iowa) competed in bull riding, but did not score.


On the women’s side, Junior Breanna Ellis (Clarion, Iowa) took part in the goat tying competition and finished with a time of 6.4.  Ellis is No. 21 overall in the event with an average of 30.3.


The men’s team is No. 13 in the standings with 170 points and the women’s team is No. 9 with 145 points


Competition at the 2017 CNFR continues with additional third go round competition at 8 p.m., CST, at the Casper Events Center.
