Marshall, Mo. (March 20, 2017)- The Missouri Valley College men’s and women’s tennis teams traveled for matches at Ottawa (Kan.) University Sunday afternoon. The men’s team swept all nine matches, while the women’s team on, 8-1.

No 2-Freshman Benedikt Voelker (Neubeuern, Germany) defeated Hache, 4-6, 6-2, 12-10
No 3-Sophomore Rei Pelushi (Tirana, Albania) defeated Selwaraj, 6-3, 6-2
No 4-Freshman Joel Noya (Barcelona, Spain) defeated Reed, 6-1, 6-0
No 6-Freshman Marius Castella (Barcelona, Spain) defeated Vo, 6-4, 6-2
No 1- Kerndl/Voelker defeated Tadius/Selwaraj, 8-5
No 2-Pelushi/Benedetti defeated Vo/Reed, 8-3
No 3-Junior Greg Teal (Ottawa, Canada)/Castella defeated Hache/Edwards, 8-3
No 2-Freshman Elisabeth Wahle (Helmstedt, Germany) defeated Luedthe, 6-0, 6-2
No 3-Senior Adela Gil Mayor (Barcelona, Spain) lost to Shepar, 3-0, retired
No 4-Senior Beatriz Sales (Botucatu, Brazil) defeated Stout, 6-1, 6-4

The Viking men’s team improves to 6-2 on the season, while the women’s team moves to 6-2.
The men’s and women’s tennis teams play matches at Rockhurst (Mo.) University Wednesday at 1 p.m.
