MVC Rodeo Teams Finish Season at College National FinalsPosted June 22, 2014
Marshall, Mo. (June 22, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College men’s and women’s rodeo teams finished the 2013-2014 season Saturday evening at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo.
On the men’s side, Sophomore Dalton Kingery (Monroe, Iowa) finished No. 5 saddle bronc riding, and finished No. 30 in bareback riding. In steer wrestling Freshman JD Struxness (Appleton, Minn.) finished at No. 13 while Freshman Fenton Nelson (Iowa City, Iowa) placed No. 41. MVC Sophomore Travis Smith sits in a tie for No. 10 in bull riding with Sophomore Coleman Rude (Silver Lake, Ind.) finishing at No. 18. In team roping Senior Ben Runyon (Tallula, Ill.) placed No. 19.
For the MVC women’s rodeo team Junior Kacey Struxness (Appleton, Minn.) finished No. 8 and Junior Twyla Reid (Albion, Ill.) placed No. 29 in breakaway roping.
In the team standings the men’s rodeo team finished the event No. 16 while the women’s team placed No. 29.
