MVC Hires New Cheer and Dance CoachPosted June 18, 2014
Missouri Valley College Athletic Director Tom Fifer has announced the hiring of Jamal Rankins as the new cheerleading and dance coach beginning with the upcoming 2014-2015 athletic season. Rankins comes to Missouri Valley with over 15 years of experience as a cheerleading coach.
"We are excited to bring Jamal in to lead our cheer and dance programs here at Missouri Valley," said Fifer. "He has the experience and expertise to continue the winning tradition of Viking cheerleading and we welcome him into the Viking family."
Prior to coming to Missouri Valley College, Rankins was an assistant coach for the Bowling Green (Ohio) State University cheerleading squad during the 2013-2014 athletic season. He also served as an instructor with the National Cheerleaders Association in Garland, Texas for over a decade and has served as cheer instructor or coach in youth cheer in Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina. Rankins graduated from Oklahoma City (Okla.) University with a Bachelor Science degree in behavior studies in 2013.
