MVC's Clarissa Molina Set to Play at Golf ChampionshipPosted May 13, 2014
Missouri Valley College Women's Golfer Clarissa Molina (Fr., McCamey, Texas) will compete at the 2014 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb., May 20-23. Molina earned a spot in the National tournament after being the individual champion at the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament earlier this month.
The NAIA has released the tee times for first and second round play for all participants at the National tournament. Molina will begin her first round on May 20 by playing in the afternoon session, teeing off at 1:20 p.m. She will be playing alongside members of USC Beaufort (S.C.) and the National tournament's host school Doane (Neb.) College. In the second round, on May 21, Molina will tee off in the morning session at 8:20 a.m., with the same first round playing partners.
There are 144 student-athletes competing at the National tournament. That number will be reduced with a cut based on performances by the golfers through the first two rounds.
Molina will be the first student-athlete in MVC women's golf program history to compete at the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship.
