MVC Track and Field Competes at Emporia State SaturdayPosted May 10, 2014
Marshall, Mo. (May 10, 2014)- Members of the Missouri Valley College outdoor track and field programs took part in the Sam Williams Twilight Qualifier at Emporia State University Saturday. This marked the final meet before the NAIA National Track and Field meet later this month.
On the men’s side, Senior Ignacio Franco (Cadiz, Spain) placed second in the 800 meter run in a time of 1:53.68, which qualfied Fraco for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships later this month.
On the women’s side, Freshman Dorothy Adams placed fourth in the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:01.95 and she placed sixth in the 200 meter dash in a time of 27.23 seconds. Also, Sophomore Brittany Brisco (San Diego, Calif.) placed sixth in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.82 seconds and in the long jump she placed twelfth with a distance of 4.98 meters.
Members of the Viking track and field programs will be in action at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala., May 22-24.
