MVC Track and Field Competes at Wildcat Open Saturday

Marshall, Mo. (April 26, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College outdoor track and field program competed at Wildcat Open at Baker University Saturday. The Viking men’s team placed No. 4 and the women’s team placed No. 6 at the meet.

 

Men’s Results featuring point scorers:

Freshman Andrew Longboy (Mililani, Hawaii) competed in the high jump and placed No. 3 clearing a height of 1.98 meters.

 

Freshman Zhitavion Shelby (Kyiv, Ukraine) competed in the 100 meter dash and placed No. 6 with a time of 11.68 seconds. In the long jump he placed No. 4 with a distance of 6.49 meters.

 

Senior Tyler Davis (St. Louis, Mo.) competed in the 100 meter dash and placed No. 5 with a time of 11.62 seconds. In the long jump he placed No. 2 with a distance of 6.90 meters.

 

Junior Ken Kipng’etich (Nairobi, Kenya) competed in the 400 meter dash and placed No. 3 with a time of 49.88 seconds.

 

Freshman Phillip Cheriyout (Nairobi, Kenya) competed in the 1500 meter run and placed No. 2 in a time of 4:05.69.

 

Freshman Markell Strickland competed in the 110 meter hurdles and placed No. 2 in a time of 15.43 seconds. In the 400 meter hurdles he placed No. 4 in a time of 57.80 seconds.

 

Freshman Hugh Lewis (Kingston, Jamaica) competed in the pole vault and placed No. 4 clearing a height of 3.80 meters.

Freshman Cameron Carroll competed in the triple jump and placed No. 6 with a distance of 12.59 meters.

 

The 4x100 meter relay team placed No. 4 in a time of 44.62 seconds.

 

Women’s Results featuring point scorers:

Sophomore Brittney Brisco (San Diego, Calif.) competed in the 100 meter dash and placed No. 7 in a time of 12.89 seconds. She also placed No. 6 in the long jump with a distance of 4.87 meters.

 

Sophomore Daneka Brown (St. Louis, Mo.) competed in the triple jump and placed No. 7 with a distance of 10.27 meters.

 

Junior Sarah Neimeier (Lohne, Germany) competed in the 800 meter run and placed No. 4 in a time of 2:28.18 and she competed in the 1500 meter run placing No. 2 in a time of 4:57.74.

 

Senior Amanda Buhr (Jefferson City, Mo.) won the 3000 meter run with a time of 11:28.86.

 

Freshman Dorothy Adams competed in the 100 meter dash and No. 6 with a time of 12.84 seconds and she placed No. 6 in the 200 meter dash in a time of 26.24 seconds.

 

Junior Santina Edwards (Pleasant Hill, Mo.) competed in the 400 meter dash and placed No. 3 in a time of 1:00.10.

 

Senior Gabby Lovelace (Pleasant Hill, Mo.) placed No. 3 in the high jump clearing a height of 1.55 meters and she placed No. 3 in the long jump with a distance of 4.96 meters. In the triple Jump Lovelace placed No. 6 with a distance of 10.52 meters.

 

The Vikings will next compete at the HAAC Championships in Atchison, Kan., May 1-3.
