MVC Football Ranked No. 7 in Spring Coaches' Poll

Marshall, Mo. (April 14, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College football team is ranked No. 7 in the 2014 NAIA Football Coaches' Spring Top 25 Poll released Monday.  The poll is released to coincide with spring workouts for football programs across the NAIA.  The Vikings have now been ranked in 103 consecutive coaches' polls, the third longest active streak in the NAIA.


The Vikings enter their spring practices after compiling a 9-3 record in the 2013 football season.  MVC won its third-straight Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season championship, appeared​ in​ a third-straight NAIA Football Championship Series, advanced to the FCS quarterfinals and finished the 2013 season with a No. 7 National ranking.


Other HAAC teams ranked in the spring poll include No. 5 Baker University, No. 11 Benedictine College and No. 23 Peru State College.  MVC's 2014 non-conference opponent is also ranked in the spring poll.  ​The Vikings will open the 2014 season hosting No. 8 Tabor College at Gregg-Mitchell Field on Sept. 13 at 6 p.m., for Family Weekend.


The Vikings will conclude their spring workouts on Monday, April 28 with a spring scrimmage at Gregg-Mitchell Field beginning at 6 p.m.
