MVC Track & Field Competes at Mizzou Relays

Marshall, Mo. (April 12, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College outdoor track and field program at the Mizzou Relays in Columbia, Mo., Saturday.

 

Men’s Results:

Freshman Zhitavion Shelby (Kyiv, Ukraine) competed in the long jump and placed No. 9 with a distance of 6.25 meters and in the triple jump he placed No. 9 with a distance of 13.18 meters.

 

Freshman Cameron Carroll competed in the long jump and placed No. 6 with a distance of 6.57 meters and in the triple jump he placed No. 6 with a distance of 13.32 meters.

 

Freshman Lewis Owens competed in the 200 meter dash and placed No. 22 in a time of 23.19 seconds.

 

Senior Jeff Crouch (Sedalia, Mo.) competed in the discus throw and placed No. 9 with a throw of 41.76 meters and in the hammer throw he placed No. 17 with a distance of 34.41 meters. In the shot put Crouch placed No. 5 with a distance of 13.97 meters.

 

Freshman Bryar Bookout competed in the discus throw and placed No. 24 with a distance of 28.24 meters and in the shot put he placed No. 13 with a distance of 8.99 meters. In the javelin throw he placed No. 7 in a time of 42.93 meters.

 

Sophomore Cory Baker (Strafford, Mo.) competed in the discus throw and placed No. 19 with a distance of 37.24 meters and in the hammer throw he placed No. 11 with a distance of 41.82 meters. In the shot put Baker placed No. 12 with a distance of 10.33 meters and in the javelin throw he placed No. 9 with a distance of 35.90 meters.

 

Sophomore Tyrail Gardner (Breckenridge, Mo.) competed in the discus throw and placed No. 23 with a distance of 32.08 meters.

 

Senior Ignacio Franco (Cadiz, Spain) competed in the 800 meter run and placed No. 4 with a time of 1:59.94.

 

Freshman Phillip Cheruiyot (Nairobi, Kenya) competed in the 5000 meter run and placed No. 4 in a time of 15:33.05

 

Alexis Barbry competed in the 5000 meter run and placed No. 11 in a time of 16:34.79.

 

Freshman Nate Martin (Jackson, Mo.) competed in the 5000 meter run and placed No. 12 in a time of 16:46.38.

 

Junior Will Lee (Strafford, Mo.) competed in the 5000 meter run and placed No. 15 in a time of 17:47.70.

 

Freshman Joel Lueck (Lexington, Mo.) competed in the 3000 meter run and placed No. 2 in a time of 9:30.12.

 

Junior Dwayne Williams (Lauderdale, Fla.) placed No. 5 in the long jump with a distance of 6.91 meters.

 

4x100 meter relay team placed No. 5 with a time of 43.12 seconds.

 

Women’s Results:

 

Senior Gabby Lovelace (Pleasant Hill, Mo.) competed in the long jump and placed No. 14 with a distance of 4.92 meters and in the triple jump she placed No. 14 with a distance of 9.89 meters. In the high jump Lovelace placed No. 10 clearing a jump of 1.49 meters.

 

Sophomore Brittney Brisco (San Diego, Calif.) competed in the long jump and placed No. 10 with a distance of 5.16 meters and in the triple jump she placed No. 13 with a distance of 10.03 meters. In the 100 meter dash Brisco placed No. 14 in a time of 12.78 seconds.

 

Sophomore Daneka Brown (St. Louis, Mo.) competed in shot put and placed No. 19 with a distance of 80.9 meters and in the javelin throw she placed No. 20 in a distance of 19.26 meters.

 

Junior Sarah Niemeier (Lohne, Germany) competed in the 1500 meter run and placed No. 6 in a time of 4:57.57.

 

Senior Amanda Buhr (Jefferson City, Mo.) competed in the 3000 meter run and placed No. 9 with a time of 11:55.31 and in the 5000 meter run she placed No. 14 with a time of 20:35.79.

 

Freshman Olivia Bird (Tulsa, Okla.) competed in in the 3000 meter run and placed No. 12 in a time of 13:18.44 and she competed in the 800 meter run and placed No. 23 in a time of 2:53.56.

 

Junior Santina Edwards (Pleasant Hill, Mo.) competed in the 200 meter dash and placed No. 29 in a time of 27.22 seconds.

 

Freshman Dorothy Adams competed in the 400 meter dash and placed No. 12 in a time of 1:01.84 and in the 200 meter dash she placed No. 21 in a time of 26.32 seconds.

 

Freshman Mya Brawley competed in the 100 meter dash and placed No. 20 in a time of 14.48 seconds.

 

The 4x100 meter relay team placed No. 7 in a time of 54.60.

 

The 4x400 meter relay team placed No. 9 in a time of 4:12.16.

 

The Vikings will next at the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan., April 16-19.
