MVC Football Team Helps Clean Up Marshall

Posted April 12, 2014

Marshall, Mo. (April 12, 2014)- Members of the Missouri Valley College football team took to the streets of Marshall Saturday morning, taking part in the city’s annual Take Pride In Marshall Litter Pick-Up Day.  Nearly 100 MVC student-athletes on the football team pitched in and helped clean up the community throughout the day Saturday.

This is the eighth year the Viking football team has participated in the community-wide effort. Members of the program cleaned up litter, spruced up gardens and lawns and assisted others with heavy-lifting during the day.

“This is our way of saying thank-you to the community for all the support they give us throughout the year,” says Head Football Coach Paul Troth.  “This allows our guys to feel like they are members of the Marshall community, and gives them a chance to meet people around the town, and help make things better in Marshall.”

The Viking football team will hold their annual spring scrimmage Monday April 28 at 6 p.m. at Gregg-Mitchell Field.
