Sarah Niemeier Picks Up Weekly HAAC HonorPosted April 7, 2014
Marshall, Mo. (April 7, 2014)- Missouri Valley College track and field student-athletes Junior Sarah Niemeier (Lohne, Germany) was named this week’s Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Central Methodist Invite Saturday.
Niemeier earned the weekly honor by winning the 1500 meter run, beating out 17 other competitors with a time of 4:50.28. She also placed second in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:11.16.
This is the first outdoor award of the season for Niemeier. She earned three indoor track awards during the recently completed 2013-2014 season.
The track and field teams will compete at the Mizzou Relays Saturday in Columbia, Mo.
