MVC Men's Volleyball Ranked No. 7 in Final Regular Season Poll

Marshall, Mo. (March 31, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College men's volleyball team moved up two spots to the No. 7 ranking in the final regular season edition of the NAIA Men’s Volleyball Top 10 Poll. The Vikings went 1-1 in matches last week, advancing to the NAIA South Conference Tournament championship match.


MVC pulled off a come-from-behind victory over then No. 4 ranked Missouri Baptist University in the conference tournament semifinals, 11-25, 15-25, 25-23, 26-24, 15-12. The Vikings lost to No. 3 Park University in the championship match 16-25, 23-25, 18-25. MVC finished the season at 23-11, breaking the program’s record for single-season victories.


Also, a number of men’s volleyball student-athletes received conference honors for their play during the season. Freshman Libero Ding Hui (Zhejiang, China) was named the NAIA South Libero of the Year, along with being named to the all-conference second team. Senior Middle Blocker Jacob Haar (San Jose, Calif.) was named to the all-conference first team. Joining Hui in the second team were Senior Setter Will McCracken (Goleta, Calif.) and Junior Outside Hitter Zach Brown (Plainfield, Ill.).
