MVC Men's Volleyball Ranked No. 9, McCracken Earns National Honor

Marshall, Mo. (March 24, 2014)- Marshall, Mo. (March 24, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College men's volleyball team won all four of its matches last week, and remained ranked No. 9  in the latest NAIA Men's Volleyball Top 10 Poll released Monday. The four wins last week moved MVC's record to 22-10 on the season, setting a program record for single-season victories. The previous record was 21 wins set in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons.  MVC defeated Hannibal-LaGrange 3-0 and Culver-Stockton College 3-0 in home matches.  The Vikings also picked up two wins at the Lindenwood-Belleville Triangular over the weekend, defeating Robert Morris College 3-0 and Lindenwood-Belleville 3-1. MVC now moves into postseason play and will host the NAIA South Tournament Friday and Saturday at the Burns Athletic Complex.  

The Vikings will play Missouri Baptist University in the semifinals Friday at 4:30 p.m.  The tournament finals will be played at 12 p.m. Saturday.

Senior Setter Will McCracken (Goleta, Calif.) picked up his second NAIA Men's Volleyball Setter of the Week honor. McCracken averaged 11.7 assists per game and 1.4 digs per game in the four victories last week. He ranks No. 1 in the NAIA in total assists with 1,016 and No. 6 in assists per game with 9.68.  McCracken previously earned NAIA Men's Volleyball Setter of the Week honors on Feb. 17.
