MVC Softball Splits Games in Tucson Tuesday

Marshall, Mo. (March 11, 2014)- The Missouri Valley softball team continued play at the Tucson Invitational Monday, playing a pair of games. The Vikings played Dakota Wesleyan University and Concordia (Neb.) University. The Vikings came from behind to defeat Dakota Wesleyan 7-6, but fell to Concordia 9-4.


In the first game of the day against Dakota Wesleyan, the Vikings faced a 6-2 deficit heading into the seventh inning. MVC plated five runs in the seventh, to pull of the 7-6 victory. In the second game of the day the Vikings faced a tough Concordia team, and fell 9-4.


The split moves MVC’s record to 2-4 on the season.


MVC will play two more games from the Tucson Invitational Tuesday morning. The Vikings will play Olivet Nazarene University at 9 a.m., and University of Jamestown at 11 a.m.
