MVC Men's Volleyball Drops Top 10 Road Match to Park

Marshall, Mo. (February 6, 2014)- The No. 9 Missouri Valley College men’s volleyball team traveled to Kansas City, Mo., Thursday evening for a matchup with No. 3 Park University. The Vikings were defeated 18-25, 26-28, 18-25.


MVC was led in the match by Freshman Outside Hitter Tom Brandstetter (Muehldorf, Germany) who had 12 kills with two digs and one ace. Also, Freshman Opposite Lucas Wurr (Curitiba, Brazil) finished with 11 kills, while Junior Setter Joao Amaral (Rio de Janiero, Brazil) had 34 assists and three digs.


The loss drops MVC to 9-4 overall and 2-1 in the NAIA South. Park improves to 9-2 on the season and 2-0 in the NAIA South.


Up next for the Vikings will travel to Graceland University on Tuesday for a 7:00 p.m. match. The Vikings have already defeated Graceland once this season, a 25-19, 25-20, 25-19 match on Jan. 31 at the Grand View Tournament.
