MVC MEN’S VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS CULVER-STOCKTON ON THE ROAD
Marshall, Mo. (January 29, 2014)- The No. 8 Missouri Valley College men’s volleyball team went on the road Wednesday evening to Canton, Mo., for a matchup with Culver-Stockton College. The Vikings were able to pull off the sweep winning 25-13, 25-15, 25-15.
Leading MVC in the win was Freshman Outside Hitter Tom Brandstetter (Muehldorf, Germany) who finished with nine kills on just 13 attempts and five aces. Senior Middle Blocker Jake Haar (La Mesa, Calif.) had 10 kills on 13 attempts with two digs and three blocks. Junior Middle Blocker Zach Bumstead (St. Peters, Mo.) had nine kills while Senior Setter Will McCracken (Goleta, Calif.) had 32 assists with 12 digs, two aces and one block.
The Vikings moved to 8-2 on the season with the win while Culver-Stockton moved to 2-6 on the year.
Up next for the Vikings will travel to Des Moines, Iowa for the Grand View Tournament Friday. The Vikings will play Graceland University at 5:00 p.m., and St. Ambrose University at 7:00 p.m.
