Marshall, Mo. (January 25, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College spirit squad hosted the MVC Winter Classic at Morrison Gymnasium Saturday. The Vikings went up against four NAIA programs in a cheer competition, and came away with the team championship.

The Vikings finished with a combined score from the three judges of 264 points. The highest score for MVC from any of the judges was a 90.1. Placing third was Lindenwood University-Belleville which scored 226.30 and taking fourth was Culver-Stockton College which had a 214.95 team score.

“I was really proud of our performance today,” said Head Cheer Coach Kristin Lyming. “With only knowing the routine for two weeks, the team pulled together and showed what it means to be a part of our Vikings family.”
