Marshall, Mo. (January 21, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College men’s lacrosse team will enter its inaugural season picked to finish seventh in the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference Division II.  The preseason ranking is based on a poll conducted by the coaches of the 17-team conference.

The Vikings played a number of games in September and October in preparation for the program’s first regular season games.  During the fall season the Vikings finished with a 7-1 record.

The Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference Division II consists of teams from Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.

“This is a very good showing for our team,” says Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Kevin Totaro.  “The selection process is based on records from the previous season and the fall, and the members of our conference picked us to finish seventh just based on what we did in our eight games.”

The men’s lacrosse team will open its 2014 schedule on Feb. 15 hosting Missouri State University at 2:00 p.m. at Reed Kepner Field.
