MVC Men's Volleyball Starts Season Ranked No. 9

Marshall, Mo. (January 6, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College men’s volleyball team will begin its 2014 season as the No. 9 ranked team in the NAIA Men’s Volleyball Preseason Poll released Monday.


The Vikings are coming off a 2013 season where they finished with a 21-10 overall record, 5-5 record in conference play, and a final ranking of No. 10. The 21-wins tied the program record for most wins in a season set in 2012.


MVC also returns two members that were named to the MAMVIC West All-Conference team, including Senior Middle Blocker Jacob Haar (La Mesa, Calif.) and Senior Setter Will McCracken (Goleta, Calif.). Haar was also named the 2013 MAMVIC West Newcomer of the Year.


The Vikings will open the 2014 season Jan. 17 playing Cincinnati Christian College in Cincinnati, Ohio. The first home match of the season will be Jan. 21 hosting Graceland University.
