Viking Football Ranked No. 7 to End 2013 Season

Marshall, Mo. (December 30, 2013)- The Missouri Valley College football team finishes the 2013 season as the No. 7 team in the NAIA Football Coaches’ Postseason Top 25 Poll.


The Vikings finished the 2013 season with a 9-3 record, capturing the program’s third-straight Heart of America Athletic Conference championship and appearing in the NAIA Football Championship Series quarterfinals.


Other HAAC teams ranked include No. 5 Baker University, No. 9 Benedictine College and No. 24 Peru State College.  Other MVC opponents ranked include No. 15 Ottawa (Kan.) University, No. 13 Northwestern (Iowa) College and No. 3 Carroll (Mont.) College.


With this ranking, the Vikings have now appeared in 102 consecutive coaches’ polls, dating back to the 2006 season.  This is the third longest active streak in the NAIA.
