MVC Women's Wrestling Wraps Up Competition in Minnesota

Marshall, Mo. (December 21, 2013)- The No. 9 Missouri Valley College women’s wrestling team sent two members to the Minnesota Storm Holiday Cup in Rochester, Minn., this weekend, wrapping up action Saturday in Greco-Roman competition.


At 105 pounds, Freshman Paulina Biega (Bizycko, Poland) finished second in the weight class after losing two matches to Victoria Anthony of Sunkist Wrestling. Biega lost both matches by 8-0 decisions. On Friday, Biega also finished second in free style wrestling, dropping two matches to Anthony.


At 121 pounds, No. 2 Jacarra Winchester (San Leandro, Calif.) took second place in the competition, winning her first match over Jessica Medina of Sunkist Wrestling by a 6-5 decision. Winchester lost her second match to Whitney Conder of WCAP in a 9-5 decision. On Friday, Winchester took first in the free style competition with two victories over Conder.


The women’s wrestling team will next compete in the Waldorf Open in Forest City, Iowa Jan. 4.
