Ethics in Action Luncheon

March 23rd, 2015 - March 23rd, 2015

Missouri Valley College’s ENACTUS Chapter will host the 12th annual Ethics in Action luncheon. The luncheon, held in collaboration with the Marshall Chamber of Commerce, honors a local business that displays ethical practices in day-to-day operations. The event will be held March 23 in the Ferguson Center’s Formal Lounge on the MVC Campus.

Red Cross Pharmacy’s Benton Street location was chosen as this year’s honoree. According to the nomination letter, the Benton Street Pharmacy has thoughtful and knowledgeable staff who go above and beyond to ensure excellent customer service; including the employees who talk on the phone with customers and provide support and kindness. Other examples cited in the nomination letter include the Pharmacy’s support of the Marshall community, their efforts to recycle bottles and their extra efforts to ensure all patients have access to their prescriptions.

Red Cross Pharmacy has a number of initiatives aimed at giving back to the community. Through its KidCare initiative, the Pharmacy gives children from kindergarten through fifth grade a free monthly supply of children’s multivitamins for one year. The Pharmacy also sponsors a Lids 4 Kids program aimed at providing funds for local schools. Lids can be collected when any adult has a prescription filled through Red Cross Pharmacy; each lid redeemed in the Lids 4 Kids program is worth .25 cents, which is paid to the local school.

Co-Owner Scott Hartwig serves as president and chief executive officer of Red Cross Pharmacy. Andy Roehrs is the manager of the Marshall store located at 161 South Benton. Red Cross Pharmacy, Inc is a privately owned family business that consists of 15 retail pharmacies and three long-term care pharmacies.

MVC Professor Larry Godsey will serve as guest speaker at the luncheon.
