Carl Murphree - Head Women's Wrestling Coach

Coach Carl Murphree

Coach Carl Murphree came to Missouri Valley College in 2003 from Napa, Calif. Murphree has coached wrestling for 30 years—nine at the collegiate level. Coach Murphree led MVC to National titles in 2004 and 2005. In 2005 Murphree was named WCWA Coach of the Year.

Coach Murphree was instrumental in establishing high school girls wrestling in California, and hosted the first NHSF sanctioned tournament in the United States—The Napa Valley Girls Classic. For his efforts Murphree was inducted into the California Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2006.

Coach Murphree has two children, Emilee and Daniel. Both are former California high school state wrestling champions. Murphree earned his bachelor of science degree at California State University-Sacramento.


Tiffany Sluik-Women's Wrestling Graduate Assistant Coach

sluikCoach Sluik begins her second season as Graduate Assistant for the Missouri Valley College Women’s Wrestling Program in Fall of 2013. Tiffany received her undergraduate education at Jamestown College where she earned degrees in Business Administration and Health and Fitness Administration.  Tiffany was a 3 time All-American while at Jamestown and was Captain of the Jamestown Squad.

Tiffany began wrestling at the age of 10 in her hometown of Mason City, Iowa. Tiffany has been active in coaching youth wrestling and brings a great wealth of knowledge to the Missouri Valley College Program.  Coach Sluik will be pursuing  a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology at the University of Central Missouri.
