Drew Hawkins - Head Women's Soccer Coach
Drew Hawkins begins his ninth year with the Missouri Valley College soccer program, and his seventh year as head coach of the Lady Viking’s Varsity squad. Coach Hawkins is a native of Independence, Mo. He played four years under Coach Vladimir Simic at Missouri Valley College where he was team captain his junior and senior years. Coach Hawkins received NAIA all-American scholar athlete honors and Region V scholar athlete honors during his playing career at Missouri Valley.
Coach Hawkins graduated from Missouri Valley College in May 2006, with a bachelor's degree in English and criminal justice. After graduation, Coach Hawkins became the assistant men’s soccer coach for two seasons. Coach Hawkins assisted with the varsity program and was in charge of the junior varsity program that saw back-to-back winning seasons.
As women's head coach Coach Hawkins has led MVC to five-straight winning seasons and a 61-53-13 overall record which included an 11-5-2 record in 2014 with a second place finish in the conference..
He assisted with the development of junior varsity players that are currently contributing varsity players. Coach Hawkins graduated in May of 2008 with a master’s degree in educational administration.
Melanie Prudhomme -
Women's Soccer Graduate Assistant
Melanie Prudhomme enters her first year as graduate assistant for the women's soccer program after a succesful college career. Prudhomme played collegiately at the University of Dubuque where she was a four-year starter and team captain her junior and season seasons. Prudhomme helped the team to three conference tournament championships and a National tournament appearance her senior season. Prudhomme was a NCAA Division III Second Team All-American as a junior and senior. She also earned all-conference and Academic awards from the Iowa Conference and won the 110% Award in 2013 for outstanding performances and contributions to the team.
While at Dubuque, Prudhomme interned as Assistant Director of the Development Soccer Summer Camps where she helped with scheduling, registering, coaching, website updates, fundraising, communications, equipment management and advertising for Developmental Soccer Club and Assistant Director of the Dubuque Development Blowout Tournament. In the summer of 2015, Prudhomme began working with the Missouri Youth Soccer Association Olympic Development Program as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach. She coached four girls that were selected to the Region II camp. Prudhomme also has earned a USSF "E" Licences and is working toward her "D" License.
Prudhomme graduated in 2015 with honors from Dubuque with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science and a minor in coaching. As the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach for both varsity and JV, she will be in charge of the Viking women's soccer program's day-to-day operations.
