Robert “Bob” C. Brinkley

Robert “Bob” C. Brinkley attended Missouri Valley College from 1976-1980. Brinkley was a member of the football and baseball team at MVC, but experienced greater success on the gridiron. Brinkley’s football awards and honors include: 1977 honorable mention all-conference; 1978-79 unanimous all-conference and all-district football; 1979 MVP; outstanding defensive lineman; all-American; and team co-captain.

Brinkley’s accomplishments did not stop on the field. He was a member of V-Club and served as Sergeant-of-Arms of the organization 1979. That same year Brinkley received the “Mr. Viking” award. Brinkley graduated in 1980 with a B.S. degree and was recognized as the Outstanding Senior Man.

Brinkley continued his football success as a coach in the Brookfield R-3 School District . Throughout his 14 years as coach for the Bulldogs, Brinkley accumulated an impressive six conference championship titles and seven district championship titles. He is a six-time conference Coach of the Year and two-time district Coach of the Year. Brinkley left Brookfield with an overall record of 106-44.

Brinkley says that Kenneth Gibler was the person who influenced him the most at Valley, and that Gibler continues to have a signigicant influence on his administrative, teaching, coaching, and personal life.
Today Brinkley is the superintendent at the Tipton R-VI School District, in Tipton, Mo., where he resides with his wife, Elane.
