Congratulations on taking the first step to becoming a Missouri Valley College Viking. Below is helpful information that will walk you through the process to becoming a Viking. Applying takes just a few minutes and our helpful staff is here to help.

Step 1: Review the admission requirements.

  • Freshman who meet the following criteria will be granted automatic, regular admission to Missouri Valley College:
    • 18 ACT (940 SAT) or higher.
    • 2.00 cumulative high school GPA or higher.
    • Top half of graduating class.
  • Transfer students are admitted based in their academic records from all accredited institutions they have previously attended. Students with 27 completed college credit hours, or more, will be admitted if a 2.00 cumulative GPA has been achieved for all coursework. Students with less than 27 completed college credit hours will be admitted based on freshman admission standards.

Step 2: Complete our application for admission.

  • Online Application. Students will be asked to create an account so they can track their application status.
  • Print off our paper application and return it to the Office of Admission.
    • An application is not considered complete until we have received your transcripts and test scores.

Step 3: Send high school transcript (or HSE/GED results).

  • Send transcript with at least five semesters of completed coursework (a final transcript is required after high school graduation).
  • High school equivalent or GED students must request an official copy of results from the Department of Education - Secondary Education (DESE).

Step 4: Send official ACT or SAT results.

  • Use ACT code 2330 or SAT code 6413 to have your scores sent directly to Missouri Valley College.
  • Scores are valid if sent directly from the high school.
  • Residual ACT test opportunities are available. These scores are only valid at Missouri Valley College and are not used for athletic eligibility purposes. Contact Admissions to schedule.

Step 5: Send official college transcripts.

  • Send official college transcripts for ALL dual enrollment/dual credit courses taken in high school.
  • Transfer students must provide official college transcripts from ALL accredited institutions previously attended.
